Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is a complex mood disorder characterized by extreme and fluctuating shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels. Individuals with bipolar disorder experience distinct episodes of mania, characterized by elevated mood, increased energy, impulsivity, and decreased need for sleep, and episodes of depression, marked by overwhelming sadness, fatigue, loss of interest in activities, and difficulty concentrating, etc.
In therapy with me, addressing bipolar disorder involves a comprehensive and individualized approach aimed at helping you effectively manage mood fluctuations and regain stability. We will work together to identify triggers and early warning signs of mood episodes, develop coping strategies, and create a personalized wellness plan.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a challenging and often distressing mental health condition characterized by recurrent, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) aimed at reducing the anxiety or discomfort caused by these obsessions. Common obsessions include fears of contamination, harm coming to loved ones, or worries about order and symmetry.
In therapy with me, addressing OCD involves a compassionate and evidence-based approach to help you gain control over the obsessions and compulsions. We will work collaboratively to identify the specific nature of your OCD symptoms, understand triggers, and develop strategies to interrupt the cycle of obsessions and compulsions.
